Outdoor Adventure Trip

May 12th-14th

Join us for a two-night, three-day trip to Mississippi Palisades State Park. Participants will learn outdoor skills including dutch oven cooking, plant identification, bird identification, and more. Spring migration and spring wildflowers will be in full swing this time of year, making it the perfect weekend trip. Bring a friend, partner, or your mom! Campfire meals will be prepared both nights, including dessert.

About the park: The Mississippi Palisades is home to picturesque bluffs and a view of the Mississippi River. This 2,500 acre park is located near the confluence of the Mississippi and Apple River. The park features deep ravines dotted with ferns and woodland hillsides featuring trilliums, bluebells, yellow lady slippers, and shooting stars.

Transportation is not included. Participants will need to bring a tent, sleeping bag, mess kit, and personal amenities. Need to borrow a tent? Let us know and we can help you out.  

Pre-trip meeting will be held on Saturday April 29th from 2:00-4:00 pm at Nahant Marsh Education Center. Before the trip, participants will meet at Nahant Marsh at 5pm on Friday May 12th to caravan to the park.Friday and Saturday will be spent exploring the park with a return to the Quad Cities around 12:00pm on Sunday afternoon.
